About the project

A semester treating drawing as construction.

It started with modelling traditional and freeform surfaces, building characters from a family of parts and unfolding sections into a field drawing. It then moved to an object and its seam, fabricated and inscribed back into a field, and ended with scanning and the constructed image.

The work was finished as large-format plots and staged photographs of the physical pieces.
